What's New?
June 25, 2009- We're still here...
I'm sorry I haven't been posting lately. I have a ton of new pictures from the last few months, but I am shopping around for a new host for the website. Since I started doing the site way back in 2001, I have always just written the code manually. For those not "into" computers, that mean that I don't use an editor, I actually sit down and write programming code every time I make a new enrty (right click anywhere on the page and select "view source" if you want to see what the code looks like). In the grand scheme of web design, this page is not really complicated , but it does mean that each post I make takes quite awhile to format. So, anyway, I am looking for a way to use one of those snazzy blog style webpage builders that does all the work for me, without losing 8 years of entries or our tonyandgiovanna.com domain name. So bear with me. And maybe in the meantime I'll brave the code and actually update you with some new pictures ;)
April 30, 2009- Playroom & Dining room
I haven't posted any house updates in awhile. The poor thing has taken second fiddle to the kids :) Here is one of our latest projects, we added a set of french doors to the formal living room and turned it onto a room for the kids to play and watch TV. I didn't go too "kiddy" with the decor since it is right off the foyer and across from the dining room. So, what once housed all our books and was a nice grown up spot to read and relax is now filled with toys and Playhouse Disney cartoons. We also spruced up the dining room (which is probably my favorite room in the house). We added a french door to the kitchen, painted the back wall an accent color, re-arranged the furniture and replaced the light fixture.
Taking a trip down memory lane, here is what these rooms looked like when we bought the house:
April 12, 2009- Easter Outfits
Grandma and Grandpa Gamble sent the kids some wonderful Easter outfits this year. Alexandra loves the dress, she calls it her "princess dress" and would stay in it all day if we let her. Here they are looking just too cute, if I do say so myself :)
April 11, 2009- Easter Egg Hunts
This year we went to two Easter Egg hunts. Alexandra was really into it and was able to keep up with the big kids (pretty much). The first one was on Friday and was a smaller affair with a new moms groups that I have joined. The second one was on Saturday and was much bigger, and it was with my old-standby group that I just love :D Both days were windy and chilly. John hung out in the stroller and Alexandra ran around playing with friends.

Alexandra hunting down the eggs and filling her basket
Both kiddos were wiped out when we got home
The next day at the second hunt Alexandra was upset because she had to wait for the adults to hide the eggs
Looking back to make sure she didn't miss any eggs

April 5, 2009- Bluebonnets
Contrary to popular belief, the Texas state flower is not a yellow rose (that song is actually about a woman), but the bluebonnet. At this time of year, fields of this beautiful wildflower pop up all over the state. It's a tradition to take pictures of cute kids lounging in the dense fields of blue. Not too far from us, I heard that there was a great field. So, I decided to take the kids out for our first set of bluebonnet pictures. I think they turned out pretty good, but now it's got me wanting a better camera for next year ;)
February 25, 2009- Our new Minivan!
We have been wanting to get a minivan for a long time now. We thought it would be another 6 months before we got it, but some things fell into place and we were able to get one sooner than we planned. We went to Carmax (which I highly reccommend, the experience was great) and purchased a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country Touring. The miles are really low (16K) and it has all the bells and whistles. Alexandra just loves it when the doors open up automatically. Here are some pictures of the newest addition to the family.

February 25 and its 81 degrees. Gotta love Texas
Happy to be back home

John's awake!
The neighbors behind us are installing a new fence. Alexandra is not happy about all the noise.
My ginormous double stroller takes up a ton of room, but it's a necessity with 2 kids.
February 16- Camping Out
At the end of the day Alexandra loves to drag all her bed linens into the family room and make a pallet on the floor. Whoever is in the room with her must get under the covers and "go sleep." John isn't always a willing participant. This time, he seemed to be having fun
February 6- Hair, Hair, Everywhere
This is what Alexandra looks like when I wash her hair and let it air dry without combing it. She has a ton of gorgeous curls that are absolutely impossible to get a comb through. I have to wet it down again in order to comb it.
She wanted me to take a picture of her after I combed her hair
Here she is posing, lately she loves to pose for the camers
